Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare)

Not only can fennel make a salad sing, it can also make a lovely cup of nutritious tea. Used for centuries as a medicinal plant with its mild liquorice like flavour, fennel tea aids digestion after a hearty meal.

Sow: April through late September

Harvest: all year round

Height: up to 85-120 cm

Sowing Instructions:

Sow 15mm deep in compost and keep at approximately 20C (in a propagator or polythene bag), germination is quick taking 7-10 days. Fennel is happy to grow in a sunny herb garden or just as well on a windowsill in full light.
