Strawberry – Alexandria (Fragaria)

A fantastic heirloom variety, the alpine Alexandria have a delicious sweet flavour, perfect for desserts or by the spoonful for the sweet-toothed!

Sowing instructions:

Sow indoors from mid January to May in rich, fertile compost in a warm well-lit location.  Gently firm the compost down, water well initially and keep moist. Keep under a propagator or within a sealed polythene bag to aid germination.

Allow 21 days for germination; once the last frost has passed, plant in a sunny spot. Alpine strawberries like the Alexandria produce fruit throughout summer. As a perennial they will give you a new harvest year on year.
